Walk in Klerken

At a few locations, you will pass by some beautiful sculptures by artist Henri Covemaeker.
The four sculptures that adorn Klerken are:
'The Blacksmith' located on Holleweg at the intersection 'De Smisse' was unveiled in 1964.
'The Lace Maker' at the corner of Smissestraat - Jos Janssenstraat was unveiled in 1970.
'The Sower' stands over Coppensplein (Smissestraat), the unveiling took place in 1966.
'The Seasonal Worker' or 'De Trimaar' (Stokstraat at Jos Janssenstraat) was unveiled in 1968.
Besides being a visual artist, Henri was also a poet. The path you partially walked was named after him. Together with Guido Bilcke and Mother Elisabeth, they remain an eternal memory of their existence in Klerken.
