Large-From Vresse to a terrace in Bohan via viewpoints Roche à Saloru and Les 8 Semois

This is a longer version of a day trip from Vresse/Laforêt to lively Bohan. This version starts from Vresse instead of Laforêt and returns along the meander of the Semois from Membre via Laforêt.

Start at the church in Vresse. After the bridge we dive left to the bank of the Semois. This brings us to Laforêt , one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia. Le pépé crochet welcomes us at the well and we continue past hotel La Sapinière . From here we follow the GR16 variant. We climb to the lookout tower of the Rocher Saloru. Here we get a panoramic view of Membre on the Semois valley.

We descend a steep path and once down we start the climb to the viewpoint "Les 8 Semois" where we get a view of both Membre and Bohan.

We now deviate from the GR but follow the walk with the red diamond . We descend to Bohan and go as far as the Lourdes Grotto. Choosing from the many terraces in Bohan is a task in itself ... We certainly look at the romantic wedding stone and wonder whether our marriage was blessed with a stone or a tree stump (see explanation of the sights).

We will use the tunnel between Bohan and Membre, which will reopen in 2023, to return. In Membre we follow the banks of the Semois and take a stroll in the village. We cross the bridge and immediately turn left. A little further on, be careful to take right at the fork because the other road on the left along the Semois is a dead end.

We take another part of the Promenade des Légendes to Laforêt with a beautiful panorama from a bench. Return to Vresse via the main road.
