Discover the rich history of Bredene and its surroundings with the cycling tour "Peace After WWII". This 29.5 km long route takes you past numerous remnants from World War II, and even a few from World War I.
Along the way, you will encounter bunkers, former defense works, and memorial sites that testify to the impact of the war on the region. You will pass, among other things, the Flakberg Blekkaart, where a WWII bunker is still visible, the military hospital, where Belgian soldiers were cared for in both WWI and WWII, and the war graves at the Saint-Rikiers Church, where Belgian, British, and American soldiers rest.
