Aldeneik - blue - 3.7 km

From the starting point, it is immediately clear: the Maas dominates this versatile walking area. Water is everywhere. On one side, the Maas flows, and right by the parking lot lies a large Maas lake. The Bosbeek also makes an appearance here before it flows into the Maas.
As early as 2002, the dredging in this area 'Heerenlaak' was completed and the area was redeveloped. On a peninsula, two campsites and a marina with a sandy beach were established. Coming from the south, a tongue of land with two historic farms and a piece of agricultural land was preserved ('Klauwenhof' and 'Dillenhof').
After a few hundred meters on your walk, you cross a bridge. Be sure to look down; this is the Bosbeek. This stream originates in Waterschei (Genk) and after a 26 km journey, it flows into the Maas here in Aldeneik. It is one of the purest streams in Flanders.
If you follow the blue loop to the domain of the harbor, you can descend to the beach via a wooden staircase near the campsite. This little beach is very popular in the summer with guests of the harbor and campsite. Sun, water, beach ... Here you get an instant vacation feeling. And via a recently constructed staircase, walkers can also enjoy it.
