Steel Horse route

The Stalen Ros route (37 km) takes you along the illustrious past of Torhout as a vibrant horse town. You start, of course, at the location where the annual Horse Market takes place, at the Mark of Torhout. Through various equestrian attractions, we wind through Ichtegem and Kortemark before returning to Torhout.

Make sure to stop by Kasteel Wijnendale, which takes you on a journey through history. It's worth a visit! You can check the opening hours at www.visittorhout.be. Perhaps you'll even hear the clattering hooves of the horses of the former castle lords… By the way, did you know that Maria of Burgundy fell in Wijnendalebos and died from her injuries?
