Altes Lager is a district of the municipality of Niedergörsdorf in the Teltow-Fläming district of Brandenburg.
The founding date is considered to be October 7, 1870, when the Prussian military bought a total of 20 hectares of land from the village of Zinna to build barracks. The military housed approximately 9,000 French prisoners of war from the Franco-Prussian War there. They were used for forced labor in the expansion of the shooting range that had existed since 1864. After the construction of a second barracks for the Jüterbog artillery school, it was initially referred to as "Lager 1." Later, the terms "Altes Lager" and "Neues Lager" became established for the two military settlements, which, like "Jüterbog 2," belonged to the military estate "Schießplatz Jüterbog." Many of the forced laborers died and were initially buried in a cemetery near the munitions factory, which was referred to as the French cemetery. In 1871, the stonemason Schnürpel erected a war memorial there.
