The Flood Museum is housed in the four caissons that were used to close the last dike hole, created during the flood of 1953. The museum is located in the seawall south of the village of Ouwerkerk.
In the museum, film footage gives an impression of the rescue, aid and reconstruction with the means of the time. Dozens of newspapers give a picture of the time, as well as the photo folders, in which the 12,500 photos are housed. Relief supplies, but also the machines used to carry out the repair are shown. A large scale model shows the numerous dike breaches.
