Die ICE Hockey League ist die höchste Spielklasse im österreichischen Eishockey und existiert in ihrer aktuellen Form seit der Saison 1965/66. Parallel zum Ligagewinn wird unter den österreichischen Teilnehmern der österreichische Meister ausgespielt. Bis zur Saison 2005/06 handelte es sich um eine rein österreichische Liga, seit der Spielzeit 2006/07 nehmen auch Vereine aus dem umliegenden Ausland Mitteleuropas daran teil. 2020/21 handelt es sich um Teams aus Ungarn, Italien und der Slowakei. 2021/22 kamen Teams aus Slowenien und Tschechien hinzu. 2022/23 spielen 3 italienische sowie jeweils eine ungarische und slowenische Mannschaft mit.
