L'Isle has an area, as of 2009, of 16.21 square kilometers . Of this area, 7.78 km2 or 48.0% is used for agricultural purposes, while 7.57 km2 or 46.7% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.87 km2 or 5.4% is settled and 0.04 km2 or 0.2% is unproductive land.
