Garbenheim is the fictional town Wahlheim used in the book “The Sorrows of Young Werther” by Goethe. The bulk of the story is told through letters that Werther writes to his friend Wilhelm. In these letters, Werther gives an intimate view of his stay in the city Wahlheim (Garbenheim). It was here that Werther met Lotte and fell instantly in love with her.
