Les ruines du Besserstein sont les ruines d’un ancien château d’éperon en Suisse. Il est situé sur le territoire de la commune de Villigen dans le canton d’Argovie à une altitude de 550 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer sur le Geissberg. Aujourd’hui, il est tombé en ruine et il n’y a que quelques vestiges.
On ne sait rien de l’origine du château. Il a été mentionné pour la première fois dans un document de 1244 comme un fief du monastère de Murbach. Il appartenait à la ferme Rein, qui appartenait au monastère. Le 13 février 1259, le comte Rodolphe de Habsbourg et son cousin Gottfried de Habsbourg-Laufenburg se rencontrèrent ici. En avril 1259, ils renoncent au bailliage de Saint-Amarintal dans les Vosges en faveur du monastère de Murbach. En 1291, la ferme Rein a été vendue aux Habsbourg et le château est entré en leur possession. Dès 1305, le château était appelé Burgstall, il était donc déjà abandonné.
