Zo'n zeshonderd jaar geleden woedde in Ten Nelleken een veldslag tussen de Brabanders en het Vlaamse leger. De Vlamingen waren niet zo goed bewapend als hun tegenstanders en trokken ten strijde met helmen zonder gezichtsbescherming.
