Rocherath und das mit ihm verwachsene Dorf Krinkelt bilden das höchstgelegene Dorf Belgiens: etwa 650 m über dem Meeresspiegel. Das Dorf liegt an dem wunderschönen Flüsschen Holzwarche und an der N674, fluglinientechnisch 6 km östlich von Bütgenbach. Es ist durch einen riesigen Waldgürtel von der deutschen Grenze getrennt, in dem die Fichte herrscht.
