De wind- en watermolens maken een belangrijk deel uit van het erfgoed in het Waasland.
Er is de Scheldemolen in Doel, die tot één van de oudste stenen molens in Vlaanderen mag gerekend worden. Het waterbouwkundig kunstwerk, de Getijdenmolen, dateert uit de 16de eeuw en is de enige molen in Europa die nog in staat is graan te malen door het gebruik van de getijden van de Schelde. Bovendien is het molenrad het grootste binnenrad van België.
