Prosperpolder, also known as Prosper, was still a salt marsh and mud area along the banks of the Scheldt in 1857. Thanks to seventh Duke Prosper Louis of Arenberg, the area was diked and the Prosperpolder was created, with an area of 1051 hectares as we know it today.
The Prosperhoeve has been protected since 22 September 1982. The house with mill and machinery as a monument, the remaining buildings of the original farm as a landscape.
