Nel 965, un mercante e viaggiatore arabo, chiamato Ibrahim ibn Ya'qub scrisse: "Praga è costruita in pietra e calce, ed ha il più grande centro commerciale. Gli slavi sono nel complesso coraggiosi e audaci... Occupano le terre che sono le più fertili e abbondanti di un buon approvvigionamento alimentare."
