Au cœur du vignoble champenois, Venteuil compte 558 habitants répartis en un village principal et deux petits hameaux : Arty et Tincourt, situés respectivement à l'est et à l'ouest. Sur le plateau, on trouve la ferme isolée d'Harnotay. Les coteaux sont exposés plein sud, ce qui fait la richesse du pays : le vin de Champagne ; ce village compte près de 60 vignerons producteurs.
