Farrington Gurney is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England located at the foot of the Mendip Hills on the junction of the A37 and A362. It has a population of 901.
In the Domesday book, the village was known as Ferentone. The second part of the name is believed to come from the Gournays, its ancient possessors, including Robert de Gournay in 1225. When Sir Thomas de Gournay was implicated in the murder of Edward II at Berkeley Castle, his estates were confiscated; Farrington was later annexed to the Duchy of Cornwall.
