In 1952 kwam Boudewijn de Groot in Heemstede wonden, nadat zijn vader hertrouwde. In dezelfde straat als waar zij zich vestigden, woonde ook een jongetje met de naam Lennaert Nijgh, een vriendje van het stiefbroertje van Boudewijn. Lennaert Nijgh zou later de beroemde tekstschrijver worden voor tal van liedjes van Boudewijn de Groot.
