Raatshoven is een dorp in de Belgische provincie Luik en een deelgemeente van Lijsem. Tot 1 januari 1977 was het een zelfstandige gemeente.De oudste vormen van de plaats zijn Romaans en luiden: Radulphi Curte , Racurth en Raulcourt . De oudste Germaanse versie stamt uit 1262 en maakt gewag van Raetshoven. In het Landense archief komt vrijwel altijd de Nederlandse vorm voor, ook in Latijnse stukken, dikwijls met verlies van h, zoals in 1390 .
