Il castello è l'attrazione principale qui nella città. Il primo castello fu costruito nell'11° secolo e nel 13° secolo fu rinforzato quando Durbuy si trovò a nord della contea di Lussemburgo. Nel 18° secolo il castello passò in mano alla famiglia nobiliare d'Ursel. Essi lo ristrutturarono nel 1731. Il castello assunse il suo aspetto attuale dopo un restauro nel 1880. Il dominio è ancora di proprietà della famiglia d'Ursel. Nonostante tutti quei cambiamenti, e i cambiamenti nella città, la posizione del castello è rimasta sempre la stessa.
