The Moonboot
After Wordwar II, the Italian city of Treviso was one of the poorest areas of Italy. Now, this city is the home of worldcompanies such as Tecnica and Benetton. Tecnica became worldfamous with the Moon Boot, the afterski boot, invented by Giancarlo Zanatta after he watched the moonlanding.

Lack of snow

Tecnica couldn't sell their produced boots in the winter of 1982 and 84, because there was a lack of snow in Euope. They had to find something new: therefore they started producing a walking boot using the new fabric Goretex, which became a huge success.

Rollerblades
The next years were very succesful, and Tecnica expanded, and looked for new investments. The Italian company bougth the American in-line skating company Rollerblade, but also the companies Lowa and Nordica.

Try out their Rollerblades on one of these inline-skating routes.
