At the garden of Anna Frank's house (the teenage girl whose diary while in isolation in her Amsterdam house during WWII made her famous), there is a chestnut tree. Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about it, because the city of Amsterdam wanted to cut it down.

However, as Anna Frank herself described the tree in her diary, cutting it down implies the end of an important historical symbol for the city. So much so, that a neighbour has auctioned a chestnut from that tree on eBay to help re-grow the "Anna Frank tree". It is currently going for almost 7000 euro!

Here is the walk along this knugget!
