One circuit is approximately 13 miles.

The Bikeathon will start and Finish at Shoebury East Beach. After leaving Shoebury East Beach, the ride will take you along Smith Street and Campfield Road to Ness Road, turn left at this junction and head for Southend Seafront. Turn right into Thorpe Hall Avenue. At Bournes Green Roundabout take the third exit into Bournes Green Chase, then turn left into Wakering Road. Then at the roundabout by the Rose Inn turn left into the Barling Road, to Mucking Hall Farm which is the first Checkpoint. Then continue along Mucking Hall Lane into Barling, through Little Wakering into Great Wakering High Street where the second checkpoint is at the Medical Centre. The last leg takes you back to Shoebury East Beach.

Bikeathon takes place on 7th September 2008. It is a very easy 13 mile circuit with no hills. Entrants have the choice of completing one or two circuits. It is an extremely well organised event, with plenty of signs and marchals.
