At the junction between the Green Meridian (= Paris meridian) and the 45th parallel, near the town of Ayrens (Cantal), trees were planted along two perpendicular lines to materialize the crossing. The Green Meridian is a project of architect Paul Chemetov executed in the year 2000 in France. It was a project to materialize the Paris meridian that crosses France from north to south (from Dunkirk, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, to Prats-de-Mollo-la-Deft, Pyrenees-Orientales) by planting trees all along its route.
