Castillo de Sponheim

El Castillo de Sponheim está en ruinas y se encuentran en Burgsponheim, en el límite de Hunsrück en Renania-Palatinado y fue la residencia original de los Condes de Sponheim. Porciones significantes del castillo permanecen todavía en pie.

El castillo se eleva sobre un peñasco, de aproximadamente 250 metros de largo, en donde el Ellerbach, un afluente del río Nahe, fluye hacia el sureste. Las ruinas del castillo se encuentran en lo alto de la peña a unos 150 metros de altura.
