El río Nalón es un río del norte de España que discurre íntegramente por la comunidad autónoma de Asturias. Tiene una longitud de 153 km, nace en la Fuente la Nalona,[3] en el puerto de Tarna, y desemboca entre San Esteban de Pravia y San Juan de la Arena formando la ría de Pravia tras regar la vega de Peñaullán y recibir al río Narcea en Forcinas, . La longitud del Nalón considerando también la ría de Pravia es de 158 km, siendo tanto por longitud como por la superficie de su cuenca el mayor de los ríos de la vertiente Cantábrica de la península ibérica. En su cuenca se halla una importante reserva de carbón, explotada principalmente en el concejo de Langreo.
