La catedral de Auxerre ubicada en Auxerre, Borgoña, Francia, es conocida por sus amplias vidrieras.[1]
La mayor parte de la catedral gótica borgoñona fue construida entre 1215 – 1233, sobre una cripta del siglo XI, pero la construcción continuó hasta los años 1540, cuando la cúpula de estilo renacentista que toma el lugar de una aguja sobre la torre acabada fue acabado. La primera campaña de construcción erigió el chevet en el extremo oriental litúrgico,[2] seguido más tarde en el siglo por una nueva fachada y las bases de nuevas torres en el extremo occidental, aún único al extremo del ábside por la nace de la antigua catedral. La construcción sobre la nave y el transepto continuó lentamente a lo largo de los siglos XIV y XV.
