Tolone è una città del sud est della Francia, capoluogo del dipartimento del Varo, parte della regione Provenza-Alpi-Costa Azzurra. La base navale di Tolone è il porto principale della marina militare francese.
La città di Tolone è situata sul litorale mediterraneo, sulla baia della Grande Rada. È la prima città della Costa Azzurra a partire da Ovest.
Tolone è incorniciata a nord dal monte Faron , dai comuni di Revest di La Seyne-sur-Mer a ovest e quelli di La Garde e La Valette-du-Var a est.
Porto in cui solitamente staziona la portaerei Charles de Gaulle, Tolone è nota per la sua rada e per le sue spiagge di sabbia fine che attirano i turisti.
