Das älteste Museum der Hauptstadt befindet sich im Herzen des historischen Marais-Viertels in den beiden Herrenhäusern, in denen Madame de Sévigné lebte, und zeigt die Geschichte von Paris und seinen Bewohnern. Gemälde, Skulpturen, Fotografien, Möbel, Kunstgegenstände, Objekte aus archäologischen Ausgrabungen... Das prächtige Gebäude beherbergt eine beeindruckende Sammlung von fast 625.000 Werken, die auf 3.900 m² präsentiert werden. Besonders sehenswert sind der wunderschöne Garten und die Orangerie, die zu den letzten der Hauptstadt gehören.
