Here, next to the "Bajos de Baldaio" you find a path to the beach. But do you know what exists around it?
There is a 3 kilometre dune barrier, which links Razo with Baldaio, some ancient geological formations. Another result of the action of wind, salt, different habitats, and of course years, a marsh was created with narrow vegetation areas that form channels through which the water enters when the tide comes in.
This enclave was an involuntary protagonist of an uphill struggle to regain an area with a destroyed landscape, which rightfully belonged to the residents of the area and allowed them to survive thanks to shellfish gathering. Citizen protests and harsh suppressions resulted in the return of the lagoon to the village in the 1990s.
The shellfish gatherers continue working in the lagoon today. Watch the video that will explain to you how shellfish gathering is carried out and hear the audio that tells you how this area was formed.
