Le cappelle medicee, costruite quale luogo di sepoltura della famiglia Medici, sono oggi un museo statale di Firenze, ricavato da alcune aree della basilica di San Lorenzo.
Gli ambienti ai nostri giorni conosciuti collettivamente come "cappelle medicee" sono stati costruiti, tra il XVI e il XVII secolo, quale estensione della basilica brunelleschiana allo scopo di celebrare la famiglia de' Medici.
