The Vanden Stock brewing family, whose son Constant became famous as the chairman of RSC Anderlecht, moved into an existing building in 1968 and brewed Lambic, among other things. In 1991, Belle-Vue was taken over by Inbev and they stopped production at the site just five years later. In May 2013, the old brewery managed to accommodate two hotels, a social restaurant, a training centre for short-term employees, a number of low-energy flats and the MIMA museum. One of the two hotels is the very first hotel in Brussels and Belgium to be 100% passive. The Belle-Vue project was also one of the first major reconversion projects along the canal to be fully completed.
