El Mercado Central de Frutas y Verduras, también conocido como Mercado de Legazpi, era un mercado de abastos especializado en la distribución de verduras y hortalizas ubicado junto a la plaza de Legazpi en el distrito de Arganzuela .
El edificio, aún conservado, ocupa un solar triangular formado por las calles del Vado de Santa María y Maestro Arbós y el río Manzanares. De planta triangular y construido en hormigón armado en un solar de treinta mil metros cuadrados. El Matadero y Mercado Municipal de Ganados se encontraba al otro lado de la calle del Vado de Santa Catalina.[1] Se diseñó y construyó por los arquitectos Luis Bellido González , Francisco Javier Ferrero , y al ingeniero Alfonso Peña Boeuf. Se comenzó en el año 1926 siendo acabado el año 1935. Estuvo en funcionamiento como mercado hasta que se traspasaron sus funciones a Mercamadrid a finales del siglo XX.
