A l’extérieur, le baptistère est couronné par un dais en forme de pomme. Les fonts baptismaux en cuivre (1446) ont la forme d’un calice. Ils sont portés par huit lions couchés. Dans le nœud du pied, on reconnaît les quatre Pères de l’Eglise latine. Le couvercle a trois étages : 1) les douze apôtres ; 2) statues équestres des Saints Martin, Hubert et Georges ; 3) le baptême du Christ par Jean-Baptiste dans le Jourdain.
