Het Akropolis Museum bevat de belangrijkste kunststukken gevonden op de Akropolis. Vroeger kon je die stukken zien in het kleine museum bovenop de top van de Akropolis. Je zal ook bewust vrijgelaten plekken zien in het museum. Deze zijn voorbehouden voor de 'Elgin Marbles' die door de Engelsen 'gekocht' waren van de Turken toen die Griekenland bezetten. Merlina Mercourri en vele andere Grieken probeerden deze Griekse kunst terug te krijgen. Je kan die stukken van het Parthenon zien in the British Museum.
