El cementiri militar alemany de Langemark és un dels 4 cementiris alemanys de recollida a Bèlgica. Aquest cementiri també es coneix com el 'Studentenfriedhof'. Un nombre de joves soldats alemanys voluntaris van morir aquí durant la Primera Batalla de Ypres el 1914. Ara hi ha més de 44.300 soldats alemanys enterrats aquí. Més de la meitat descansen juntament en la tomba d'amics a prop de l'entrada del cementiri. Aproximadament 17.000 soldats d'aquest fossar comú han pogut ser identificats. Els seus noms es poden trobar als blocs al voltant de la tomba d'amics.
