Flaçà és un municipi empordanès adscrit a la comarca del Gironès, a la riba dreta del Ter. Ocupa una superfície de 6,67 km² i s'estén a cavall de la serra de Vall-lloreda i la plana al·luvial que forma el riu Ter un cop travessa el pas del congost. Al nord limita amb el riu Ter i el terme municipal de Sant Jordi Desvalls, a l'oest amb els termes municipals de Sant Joan de Mollet i Sant Martí Vell i al sud i a l'est amb els municipis de Foixà i la Pera, ambdós pertanyents ja a la comarca del Baix Empordà.
