Xixona és un municipi de País Valencià, pertanyent a la comarca de l'Alacantí i també capital de la històrica comarca de la Foia de Xixona. És mundialment coneguda per ser el bressol del torró. Comptava el 2019 i segons l'INE amb 6.865 habitants.
Els musulmans fundaren Saxona, s'alça arrecerada al pujol del Castell i el de Torreblai, en el qual es troba el dipòsit d'aigües.
