El Museu Arqueològic de Còrdova es troba a l' antic palau de la família Páez de Castillejo i en un nou annex.
Durant les desamortitzacions realitzades pels diferents governs espanyols durant la primera meitat del segle XIX , es va recollir un gran nombre d'obres d'art i material arqueològic. Una i altra vegada les col·leccions es van traslladar d'un lloc a un altre de la ciutat pel seu creixement constant .
Al museu es conserven unes 33.500 peces inventariades , des de la prehistòria fins a la baixa edat mitjana . Aquestes peces destaquen per la seva quantitat i qualitat, així com pel seu estat de conservació i el seu caràcter únic.
