El Museo Arqueológico de Córdoba está ubicado en el antiguo palacio de la familia Páez de Castillejo y en un nuevo anexo.
Durante las desamortizaciones llevadas a cabo por los distintos gobiernos españoles en la primera mitad del siglo XIX , se recogió una gran cantidad de obras de arte y material arqueológico. Una y otra vez , las colecciones se trasladaban de un lugar a otro de la ciudad debido a su constante crecimiento .
En el museo se conservan unas 33.500 piezas inventariadas , que van desde la prehistoria hasta la Baja Edad Media . Estas piezas destacan por su cantidad y calidad, así como por su estado de conservación y su carácter único.
