Chinon és una comuna francesa, situada al departament de l'Indre-et-Loire i a la regió de Centre-Vall del Loira. És una de les dues subprefectures d'Indre i Loira . El seu gentilici és Chinonais. Famosa per la seua fortalesa, que va ser seu reial, Chinon, "menuda vila de gran renom", com se la sol caracteritzar, és també coneguda com "la flor del jardí de França", essent la Turena aquest jardí.
