Pertany a la subcomarca dels Aspres.Actualment, juntament amb la vila de Tuïr i els pobles de Banyuls dels Aspres, Brullà, Calmella, Cameles, Castellnou dels Aspres, Forques, Llupià, Montoriol, Oms, Paçà, Pollestres, Pontellà, Queixàs, Santa Coloma de Tuïr, Sant Joan la Cella, Terrats, Torderes, Trasserra, Trullars i Vilamulaca forma part del cantó número 1, dels Aspres , amb capitalitat a Tuïr.
