El 1909 , es va construir aquest quiosc permanent de formigó armat amb elements de ferro colat, en substitució de la versió de fusta que començava a deteriorar-se. L'edifici és d' estil art nouveau , amb línies elegants, detalls de ferro forjat i una marquesina circular.
Des de finals del segle XIX, el Cours Honoré-Cresp ha servit com a passeig urbà amb concerts regulars de bandes de música militars i actuacions dominicals.
El quiosc original estava situat a la plaça del Clavecin, davant del monument a Fragonard, però va ser traslladat el 1908 a l'esplanada al costat de les escales que condueixen al Palau.
