La Porta Palermo és una porta històrica de la ciutat del segle XVIII que dóna accés al centre de la ciutat per Corso VI Aprile . Es troba a la Piazza Bagolino , que ofereix una àmplia vista sobre el golf de Castellamare .
La porta conté 2 baixos relleus de bronze de l'escultor Nicola Rubino d'Alcamo (1961). "Il poeta Cielo d'Alcamo alla corte di Federico II" i "Vita attiva di Alcamo" ("El poeta Cielo d'Alcamo a la cort de Federico II" i la "Vida activa d'Alcamo") són escenes rurals d'estil de l'escola romana, amb figures simbòliques. Nicola Rubino és sens dubte un dels representants més importants de l'art italià del segle XX.
