Consisteix en un altiplà situat en la part nord-est de la ciutat, ara és el cor de la banca internacional i financera del país. Un projecte de desenvolupament és fer del districte Kirchberg amb 10.000 habitants i 35.000 llocs de treball per a 2020-2025.Està connectat amb el centre pel Pont Gran Duquessa Charlotte -comunament nomenat «pont vermell», pel color de l'òxid que cobreix el pont des de la seva construcció- que s'estén per la vall del riu Alzette.
