La Praça Mouzinho d'Albuquerque o Camp Novo, ubicada a la parròquia de São Vicente, va ser consagrada en 1725 per iniciativa de l'arquebisbe Rodrigo de Moura Teles de Braga.
Ha tingut diversos noms com Praça do Gavião, Bairro do Gavieira, Bairro do Quinteiro, Camp Novo do Reduto i Bairro do Reduto, però el seu nom oficial actual, Praça de Mouzinho d'Albuquerque, li va ser donat el 4 de gener de 1898, per suggeriment del llavors tinent d'alcalde.
Al centre de la plaça es troba una estàtua de Pere V de Portugal , erigida el 1869 a Camp de Santana i posteriorment traslladada a la seva ubicació actual.
A més del jardí, la plaça també compta amb una font de granit al costat nord i el Palacete do Conde de Carcavelos, construït al segle XIX i antigament utilitzat pel Ministeri de Sanitat.
