La província de Donetsk és una óblast d'Ucraïna Oriental. La capital és Donetsk . La província ocupa una part important de la regió històrica i etnocultural del Donbass, o Conca del Síverski Donets .
Limita amb les óblasts de Dnipropetrovsk i Zaporíjia al sud-oest, amb la de Luhansk al nord-est, la de Rostov a l'est, i amb la mar d'Azov al sud. Per millor situar l'óblast, vegeu aquest mapa d'Ucraïna que mostra les divisions administratives i països veïns de forma molt clara .
