Den underjordiske metrostation blev åbnet den 5. juli 1985 sammen med Stuyvenbergh og Heizel som en forlængelse af metrolinje 1A fra Bockstael til Heizel. Siden revideringen af metronettet i 2009 er denne station blevet betjent af metrolinje 6.
Houba-Brugmann ligger under Houba de Strooperlaan i den nordvestlige del af byen, nær universitetshospitalet UVC Brugmann. Inden for gåafstand ligger endestationen Stadion for sporvognslinjerne 51 og 93.
