Muren er blevet indtaget 14 gange i Ronde van Vlaanderen. I 1950'erne var den helt belagt med brosten, siden 1970 først 325 meter asfaltvej og derefter brosten. Stigningen har en højde forskel på 68 meter (toppen på 101 meter), en gennemsnitlig stigningsprocent på 9,1% med et maksimum på 20%. På grund af de kaotiske scener i årene 1950-1952 (som Koppenberg senere oplevede) blev kun Kloosterstraat bestiget herefter (indtil 1969). I 1981 kom løkken omkring kapellet på toppen til, og løkken har en stigning på maksimalt 17%. Højde forskellen bliver nu 77 meter og den gennemsnitlige stigningsprocent 9,3%.
